Cork Kerry Branch Meeting

Dear Member,

Happy New Year to you and I hope all is well at this very busy time of year. I am writing to you

to inform you of the spring meeting of the Cork/Kerry ATHE, which will be held on the 3rd

March 2012 in The Brehon Hotel, Killarney, Co. Kerry. On behalf of the committee I am

delighted to inform you of a very exciting line up.

The meeting will go as follows:

9.00am - Registration

9.30am - PDST – Presentation by Carmel McSweeney (flashcards, crosswords; Literacy & Numeracy)

10.00am- Mairead Moriarty – Useful resources for Home Ec Teachers

10.30am - Coffee

11.00am- Ruth Charles from www.Nutrikids.ie on Diet & Health (a special focus on

nutrition for 6-12yr olds)

12.00pm - Cork/Kerry ATHE Branch – Business Meeting

12.30pm - Noel Brosnan (Coachingacademy.ie) who will focus on the wellbeing of the teacher in the classroom.

1.00pm - Lunch

1.45pm - Noel Brosnan continued.

Noel taught for 21 years before becoming a Life Coach. His presentation will touch on

areas such as an empowered state in the classroom, the impact we have on students, selfmotivation/

self-care/relaxation, engagement and building rapport, our thinking and how itempowers us and being more resourceful and energetic.

There will be €10 collected from everyone on the day to contribute towards the cost of the

speakers– your support is greatly appreciated.

If anyone has any matters for the agenda at the business meeting please let me know.

I look forward to seeing everyone there on the day

Attached are some photos of the last meeting from the Cookery demonstration at The Cottage Restaurant with Chef Sham Hanifa on marinades.

Our final meeting is scheduled for Monday 26th March – Workshop with Kathryn Sweeney on stitches and embelishments for felted pieces and post analysis of mock papers
